Camp Liberty 2025
Registration Opens Tuesday, February 4 @6pm

About  Educational Arts Team's Camp Liberty

Camp Liberty’s 5 acres are filled with the laughter of kids experiencing activities grounded in social emotional learning. What makes Camp Liberty different from other camps is that children have the freedom to choose what their day looks like, but no matter what activity they choose at Camp they are going to be experiencing creativity, personal growth, decision making, team building, conflict resolution, inclusion, and so much more.

Affordably priced to ensure no child is left out, Camp Liberty has served two generations of many families and it is a point of pride that many campers eventually become counselors. Camp Liberty provides what all children need – a safe, creative environment where they can learn, play and nurture their independence.

For the past 50 summers, Camp Liberty has always been a fun place to be, and campers can choose from different activities including theater, dance, ceramics, music, visual arts, capture the flag, soccer, dodgeball, basketball, handball, volleyball, Gaga Ball and of course swimming. Camp is also a place where campers disconnect from technology and engage in outdoor activities, something that can be hard to come by in Jersey City.

Our goal is to ensure that every camper leaves Camp Liberty with unforgettable memories, a stronger sense of self, and the tools to navigate the world with creativity, confidence, and connection. Educational Arts Team’s core philosophy of connecting creativity with critical thinking in order to stimulate personal growth and increasing self esteem is at the heart of all of the Camp’s activities.

Camp Liberty serves children ages 6-12 and includes an in ground swimming pool, ball fields, playground, handball courts, gazebo and theatrical stage.

Teen Summer Camp Liberty (Ages 13 - 15)

Have you heard about our Camp Liberty Summer Teen Program? We offer teens ages 13 to 15 positive and exciting opportunities to build bonds through on site activities in recreation, creative and performing arts, field trips, community service and limited screen time.

Our Teen program is so much more than a place to hang out. It’s a place where teens have the opportunity to meet peers, form friendships and hone skills while they play sports, act in plays, design and create scenery and costumes and just have fun. Designed for this age group, the Teen Camp offers a different experience from that of the younger campers.
Your teens will have:
• A safe place to socialize and enjoy the summer
• Participate in workshops in leadership and life skills (like team building and collaboration)
• Fun, creative games, swimming, theater, sports and art activities
• Limited screen time
• 1 field trip per session

The program takes place during Sessions 1,2, 3 & 4

Sessions 1 and 3 will have an emphasis on recreation programming.

Session 2 and 4 will have an emphasis on visual and performing arts.

There is a two session limit for participation in the teen program.

Camper Eligibility

To be eligible to attend Camp Liberty, a camper must turn six by the first day of the desired session. All campers must be able to independently use the bathroom and change into and out of swim attire without assistance from a counselor. Campers should be able to participate in a group setting, as well as choose an activity, and stick with that activity for about 45-60 minutes. Campers should be able to participate safely and appropriately within a 1:15 ratio of staff to campers. We expect all campers, staff, and families to contribute to a safe camp environment for all.

Campers are expected to function in a group setting in a positive and cooperative manner that displays kindness, acceptance and respect for self and others. If your camper needs an accommodation to have a successful camp experience, please contact us to further discuss by emailing us at camp@educationalartsteam.org or by calling 201-432-1912.

Scholarships

As always, Camp Liberty strives to promote inclusion and equity in our community. As a nonprofit organization, we are committed to making our program accessible to all, regardless of income. Educational Arts Team will be offering full and partial scholarships based on household income. We are accepting 2023 and 2024 tax returns as proof of income. Please contact us if you have any difficulty providing a tax return.

Scholarships will open on February 1 and closes February 15. They are offered on a first come first serve basis and are contingent upon funding. Separate spots are held for scholarship campers. Completing this application does not guarantee your child a spot at Camp Liberty. Many families choose to register for Camp when registration opens to guarantee their spot, and if they are awarded a scholarship, it is applied to the remaining balance. If you are not awarded a scholarship, customizable payment plans are available.

Scholarship Application Link: Will be shared here on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 12pm.
